The GeForce GTX 1660 super is one of the many from the 16 series graphic card processing units made by NVIDIA. The turning microarchitecture is announc in February earlier this year (2019). The 16 series commercialized similar to the 20 series within the passing time frame. They are amongst the best graphics cards by Nvidia available in the market.
Based on the turning microarchitecture used in the 20 series, the 16 series retains the integer and floating-point operations dedicatedly. It was earlier in March 2018 when Nvidia announced that a single driver update that would be released sometime near April 2019 could enable DirectX raytracing on the 16 series card that was otherwise a feature reserved for the RTX.
Among the varied range of graphic card processing units available in the market, Nvidia is one of the leading brands that have captured the market with lightning speed. The launching of the 16 series, along with the announcement of GeForce GTX 1660 super in February earlier this year, created a sensation. The graphic cards are PCIe 3.0×16 cards. It claims to have increased the speed by 1.5x, also claiming to deliver a performance double than the 10 series and 50% more than the general 1660 series.
What makes GeForce GTX 1660 Super different from the rest?
Not much has changed as the pioneering GTX 1660 has been a rocking setup already. The basic features remain the same, which includes the precisely similar GPU as the meticulous yet non-super, core model GTX 1660. It comes with 88 texture units resulting in the same Texel fill rate. Similarly, 22SM units/1408 CUDA nuclei which run at a speed of 1530 MHz. This is identical to the GPU boost clock speed of 1785 MHz, and the 6 GB VRAM buffer. The added benefit comes as a surprise. It is the 14gb/s GDDR6 that has taken a 75% leap in the memory bandwidth that was only 8GB/s earlier in the GTX 1660 model. It is even higher than the one in the Ti models.
The plus that comes along is that you can avail the GeForce GTX 1660 Super at only a 4% hike for the 75% increase in the memory bandwidth, which otherwise would have costed a bomb.
The initial presentation of the GeForce GTX 1660 Super wasn’t much of a joy. It is the 755 increase in the memory bandwidth, given the price that caught the eyeballs. Although the bigger numbers are for paper as the initial memory wasn’t stuffing up for that kind of a raise, it certainly has made life easier. It is a great buy for the gamers and people using high configuration laptops for 3 Dimensional tasks and operation heavy software that otherwise consumes a lot of space and slows the machine. To wrap up in short, compared to other high-end brands that manufacture graphics card processing units, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 super is top on charts with a very small price hike and larger memory benefit.
